1. How did you get your start and why did you chose wedding photography as a career?

I originated from Serbia, ex-Yugoslavia, quite unsettling space on the Balkan Peninsula. Came to Dominican Republic year 2000 and instantly fell in love with this peace of Paradise under Caribbean Sky. Being graphic designer by education, initially started to work as one. Photography was my passion since forever, but only after digitalization I discover how connected I am to this form of art and I start to work as photographer 2007. I worked weddings mainly for big companies for more than a decade and started my own company Milan Photo Cine Art at the end of the year 2016. I couldn’t be more proud for it. So you can say I am both very experienced wedding photographer and young enthusiastic company nicely wrapped in one.

1. How has your extensive experience in wedding photography helped you in difficult circumstances on a wedding day?

I must say that I feel very comfortable in my skin when I am at the wedding. Everything look much clearer trough camera’s view finder. It helps a lot to know what can happened in each situation so you can easily help Bride and Groom and their family members navigate through the wedding day.    

1. Tell us about some of the more unique weddings you've shot.

I have shoot many different weddings from small, intimate weddings, vow renewals, elopements, located on a small private beach, to big even huge weddings in secluded areas of Dominican Republic. Also weddings vary in style a lot, from rustic to luxury, I can almost say I’ve seen it all…but not yet….  

1. What are some of your favorite local venues?

1. What advice would you give a bride who is looking for a wedding photographer?

I always recommend to the brides to choose wedding photographer carefully, to look through full galleries in looking for the best quality and style that matches the best to their taste. Also, second thing that is very important is personality of the photographer. Often, we are staying with the couple more than a 10 hours on that sometimes demanding and definitively very important day in your life, for sure you will want someone by your side that is easy going, relaxed and hold his skill in his fingertips.

1. What's your favorite part of the wedding day to photograph?

That is difficult to say, but if I had to choose, it will be more dynamic parts of the day, packed with emotions as ceremony or party at the reception.

1. What kinds of weddings do you love to photograph?

I would say all kinds of weddings. Each wedding has its own charm, and every couple has own vibe that reflect on to the wedding.

1. What are your top tips for brides to help them get great photos on their wedding day?

Breathe, try to relax and take it all in, all the emotions and all that happened around you it will all show on photos.

1. How important is it to hire an experienced wedding photographer?

Of utmost important is to hire professional. More or less experienced, we all had to start at some point to build experience. My advice is always go for the quality first, experience is excellent bonus.

1. What do you find is the biggest challenge in wedding photography?

Definitively, time consuming edition. I prefer to edit each photo in Photoshop and that takes a looooot of time

1. What do you do for fun when you're not shooting weddings?

I adore computer games, and move theaters.

1. How would you describe your style of photography?

Best description is that I do mixed style. For the preparation and ceremony I do documentary as for per or post wedding sessions or Trash the Dress photoshoots I am leaning towards editorial style.

1. What do you offer to clients that is unique?

Each photographer has his own personal style, but beside that I believe that good interaction with people that I am about to photograph is key element to have relaxed, natural faces on your photos.

1. What (or who) inspires you?

Love is an absolute inspiration for me. In my personal or professional part of life, it is the power engine for my spark of creativity.

1. What's the best photography-related advice you've been given?

Just be you. The. Best. Advice. Ever.
