LGBTQ+ Micro-Wedding In Ouray, CO - Larsen Photo Co.

Real Wedding Description

When Lauren and Laura started planning their micro-wedding in Colorado, they knew they wanted to head deep into the Rocky Mountains, away from the busy Front Range. As their elopement photographer, I created a personalized location guide for the couple with my favorite venues and portrait locations in southwestern Colorado, and they decided on the small mountain town of Ouray for their big day. 

One of the draws of Ouray is the abundance of off-roading trails surrounding the area, making it easy to access incredible mountain views without much hiking. The brides and I headed up one of these trails in a rented Jeep on the morning of their wedding day, so that they could exchange their personal vows alone. Afterwards we explored the area, before heading back into town for the official ceremony with their closest friends and family. 

The ceremony took place at The Venue at CSB, a rooftop deck on the main street of Ouray, with incredible views of the mountains surrounding the small town known as the Switzerland of America. The brides walk down the aisle to one of their favorite Taylor Swift songs, before an emotional ceremony led by a close friend. After the ceremony, everyone got to take in the sunset from the rooftop, before heading to a local restaurant called Brickhouse 737 for a reception dinner. 

The whole day was everything that I love about photographing elopements and micro-weddings: the couple got to spend a lot of quality time together before the rush of afternoon events, while also celebrating with all their favorite people.
