Kelso Conservation Area Summer Engagement Shoot

One of my favourite things about living in Canada is experiencing the four seasons and everything they have to offer. It’s always so much fun to see how some of our favourite spots change with the seasons so we were beyond excited when Kyla and Riley chose Kelso Conservation Area for their summer engagement shoot. The last time we were at Kelso Conservation Area it was for Marianne and Adam’s fall engagement session. It was cold and gloomy, all the trees and leaves covering the ground were a deep yellow, orange, and red, and there were families all around enjoying the colourful foliage before a late fall storm would leave all the trees bare.

Kyle and Riley’s summer engagement shoot at Kelso Conservation Area, despite starting off a bit gloomy and with lots of rain, had a completely different vibe from the fall shoot. There were almost no visitors at Kelso Conservation Area this time around because of the rain, yet thankfully the rain stopped just in time and the sun peaked out from in-between the clouds for the majority of the engagement shoot. The grass and trees were a vibrant green and flowers were in full bloom everywhere we looked, with raindrops on the petals and the leaves shimmering in the sun.

Just as we thought the shoot couldn’t get any more perfect, Kyla and Riley decided they wanted to get into the water for some final sunset shots. As awesome as all our couples are, it’s not every day that our couples are ready to jump into the lake, fully clothed, and with their hair and makeup done. We couldn’t pass up the opportunity to create epic sunset shots so in the lake we went with them to get just the right shot. Boy, was it worth it! Kyla and Riley were absolutely phenomenal and stunning, and patient, as they held each other close, their clothes clinging to their bodies, slightly shivering as the sun went down, but with the biggest and happiest smiles on their faces! That’s all we could ever want! Kyle and Riley, thank you so much for trusting in us and for being so awesome! You guys rocked your engagement shoot!
