Real Wedding Description

From Rima, the bride:

– Inspiration of the day – love, friendship, music and celebration. Ryan and I love to be surrounded by loved ones and to celebrate all of life’s wonderful moments. We met at Jazz Fest in New Orleans (and 3 years later, he proposed at Jazz Fest), so music and celebration has been a part of our lives since Day 1.

– Special touches that made the wedding day extra special –

· Hosting the wedding at The House of Blues was truly unique and embodies our spirit. The venue set the tone for the night, which was to get down on the dance floor!

· More than half of our 300 guests were out of town friends and family that flew in from across the world to celebrate with us.

· Our wedding band, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, is a New Orleans funk band that we’ve seen many times across the country and they know how to start a party. Having them as our wedding represented New Orleans, where we first met.

– Sources where some of the great details were found – We really didn’t go overboard on flowers and décor, but I wanted to surprise him with the grooms cake – it was a replica of the Eatsie Boys food truck, which is a gourmet food truck that he and his business partners opened a few years ago (Made by Who Made the Cake). Our House of Blues coordinator surprised us with the Vintage BEER lights strewn behind the bar (Ryan owns the 8th Wonder Brewery).

– anything DIY or DIY inspired? Ryan owns the brewery and café/food truck so all of the beer was 8th Wonder Beer, and we served late night Doughnut ice cream from the café. It was a great personal touch for our guests.
