On the top of parking decks, on the streets, dodging traffic, and playing with the trains! All in a days work with a creative engagement session.
This session was in the streets of Scranton, PA. Sarah and Lee were very open minded and just wanted to have fun. Being in Scranton we have a lot of streets, city, parking decks etc. It was also a beautiful day out, so I knew right away that I wanted to show off the scenery as much as possible.
This day I was also testing out my brand new Elinchrom Ranger Quadra pack, which proved to be an amazingly fun strobe! Armed with an assistant we hit the streets.
I first found a parking deck that I knew had an open top and a great view of the city. We then ventured over to the trains and played on a few of the streets on our way, with the view of Scranton in the background.
We ended the session in the Scranton Square with the famous “Electric City” sign in the background.
I am willing to bet that for most people, the last time they were professional photographed was for their Senior Portraits in High School! Engagement sessions can be a great opportunity to learn the photographers style, but to also practice being in front of a professional camera again before the big day. Having a large camera pointed at you can be intimidating. So why not warm up to it and have a great time in the process!
