Wedding Photographer
Julie and Travis had exactly the kind of wedding that they wanted; full of friends, love and happiness that radiated everywhere. I knew when I met them and Julie explained to me that while she had paid attention to detail for her wedding she was not concerned with the “stuff” , she just wanted to marry Travis and enjoy their day. I wish I could bottle that attitude and sprinkle it on on every potential client that I meet with.
Monona Terrace in Madison is a gorgeous venue, one of the one of the final creative visions of world-renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Set right near the square at the capital in Madison, we were all excited about the photographic opportunities with the Terrace and photos in front of the capital at night. And as these things happen, as I was driving to their wedding in Madison, I was cursing the weather gods that brought in unseasonably warm temperatures that kicked off severe thunderstorms and heavy, dense fog. But when life brings you fog, you make foggy pictures, and they turned out to be some of my favorite images from their day. Later on the fog lifted and the temperatures plummeted and I admit that I begged a little bit to get Julie outside for the capital pictures, but they agreed they were worth it!
I photographed Julie’s sister wedding earlier this year, so this was my second opportunity to work with this awesome family. I am blessed!
