I had the pleasure to accompany Ida and Shoh at their civil wedding ceremony in Munich in spring 2014. At our afternoon photo session, in the Munich pedestrian zone, at the Odeonsplatz and in Leopoldstrasse Ida’s red dress was a real eye-catcher.
Ida comes from Russia and Shoh is half Japanese. Both are scientists usually living and working in New York City. Accordingly the wedding guests at the church wedding were international. As I recall the guests came from 17 nations, mostly from Russia and Japan. Ida and Shoh wanted to show their friends and relatives from all over the world the most beautiful part of Germany.
The ceremony took place at the church St. Bartholomae on the island in the middle of the lake Koenigsee. And so it became a fairy tale wedding in a alpine mountain idyll.
The bride and groom prepared themselves with friends for the wedding ceremony at the Villa Carlton Hotel in Salzburg/Austria. Then all the guests were transferred by bus and by ship to the Island St. Bartholomae where a moving ceremony was held. On our way back to Salzburg there was some time left where we had a lot of fun by making some portraits of the bride and groom. I am truely convinced that it is the bridal couple who takes the pictures (I’m just the photographer).
Then followed a lavish party in the elegant Kavalierhaus Salzburg late into the night.
