Britny and Evan decided to have their destination wedding in Alaska, outside Anchorage at Bird Point to be exact. Bird Point is a beautiful spot that overlooks some of the more unique alaskan landscape while still being very accessible due to how close it is to Anchorage itself. It is amazing to think about, but this location is actually right off the highway, about 30 minutes south of the city itself. As a wedding photographer, I never thought I would be able to see such beautiful scenery so close to a major city, but as I found out...Alaska is a state full of surprises.
As far as destination weddings go, the couple opted to keep things relatively simple. At least, as simple as a destination wedding can be while being planned from thousands of miles away. Bird Point is a fairly large area, and we were able to explore it a little more and get a little further off the beaten path than I was expecting to be able to. Since the sun sets so late in Alaska, we had plenty of time to find our way back while still enjoying the beautiful golden hours of sunlight that the area is known for this time of year. This was truly a special wedding at Bird Point, and I hope to be able to make the journey back one day in the future!
