In a world of increasingly homogenous architecture, Aspen Meadows Resort is a striking outlier. The hotel was inspired by the Bauhaus movement of the early 20th century in Germany, and it provides a really cool and different look for any Aspen wedding. Whenever we venture to Aspen, we try to stay at Aspen Meadows Resort, whether we’re shooting there or not. And the best part is that it’s surprisingly affordable considering the location. Plus, it goes with out saying, this is a wonderful venue to take some truly unique wedding photos.
Andy and Mate's beautiful fall wedding at Aspen Meadows was a blast for all involved, including this wedding photographer. We started with portraits around downtown Aspen at the Aspen Art Museum, the Hotel Jerome and the John Denver Sanctuary. Then it was back to Aspen Meadows where Andy surprised Mate with a live orchestra playing one of Mate's favorite songs, "Rhapsody in Blue."
A beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony was then followed by a raucous dance party that had all of Andy and Mate's closest friends and family dancing late into the night. We capped off the evening by taking the grooms outside for one last portrait under the milky way.
