Socially Distanced Fort Erie Wedding
Jassica and Steven are one of many couples who decided to postpone their wedding celebrations until next year because of the pandemic, but they were not ready to completely give up on their wedding plans for this year just yet. They decided to go a head and get married in a beautiful, albeit socially distanced, church ceremony in Fort Erie. Jassica and Steven both got ready at the Clarion Hotel in Fort Erie with only their bridesmaids and groomsmen around to help them get ready. The girls did their own hair and makeup, slipped into their dresses, and even helped Jassica apply lotion so that she didn’t stain her stunning wedding dress from Blu Ivory Bridal; while the guys were there to help Steven shave and put on the final touches to his swanky outfit (I mean, did you see that pocket watch?!).
The ceremony was held at the historic St Paul’s Anglican Church in Fort Erie. Diego and I were quite taken by the church, with its steep stairs leading up to the entrance, the bright red carpet and yellow altar walls, and the beautiful organ lit by the gorgeous stained-glass windows. Keeping with social distancing requirements, everyone, including the bride and groom, kept their masks on for the entirety of the ceremony, quickly removing it for their first kiss (and one more kiss, because…well, why not!). Even with their masks on, it was undeniable how excited and happy Jassica and Steven were to marry each other - their eyes were smiling and shinning with pure happiness. It was so sweet to witness.
Following the ceremony, it was portrait time and man, did the wedding party strut their stuff for the camera when given free rein for their informal wedding party photos - it was so much fun to capture! And while we had only a bit of time left before we had to join the guests for the intimate backyard reception, Steven suggested we explore a small wooded area in Fort Erie that he used to go biking in when he was young, and it was just perfect for their couple portraits. The sky and the sun were peeking through the tall trees, creating spotlights on the trail and beautifully lighting Jassica and Steven as they walked down the path, hand in hand, ready for their new adventure as husband and wife.
Jassica and Steven, thank you so much for having us be a part of your special day. We cannot wait to celebrate with you again next year!
