Gretchen Troop Photography started in film photography, where Gretchen obtained a Bachelors of Science degree in Illustration Photography from Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Communication. Rather than follow the studio photography path that the degree was intended for, Gretchen threw herself into landscape photography and made a life out of finding striking colors in nature and selling the photographs to businesses and individual clientele. Alongside professional live music and landscape photography she began photographing musicians for their album covers and promotional photography, learning lighting in the field rather than studio. In 2012 a music fan asked Gretchen to photograph a wedding and her love of the profession was born. Now working regularly in the mountains of Colorado, Gretchen specializes in environmental portraiture for engagements and skilled photojournalistic wedding photography with striking mountain portraits. Gretchen is a strong believer in constant improvement and education and performs her craft skillfully and passionately.
